How Do I Manage My Air Canada Booking?

If you need to change or update an existing Air Canada reservation, you can usually do it through Manage My Bookings on the Air Canada website or app. Air Canada says the tool can be used to retrieve your itinerary, make eligible flight changes or cancellations, select seats, add passport information, request upgrades, and check in.

Process To Manage Air Canada Booking

1. Go to Air Canada Manage My Booking

Visit the official Air Canada Manage Bookings page. Select Manage My Bookings or My Bookings and retrieve your reservation. You generally have two ways to access a booking:

• Sign in with your Air Canada/Aeroplan account and select the reservation.
• Retrieve an individual booking using your booking reference and passenger last name. Depending on the booking, Air Canada may also ask for the credit card number used for the original purchase.

2. Review Your Flight Details

Once the reservation opens, you can review information such as:

• Flight dates and times
• Departure and arrival airports
• Flight numbers
• Passenger itinerary
• Booking reference
• Seat assignments
• Baggage and other travel options
• Ticket/itinerary information

Air Canada allows customers to view or print their itinerary receipt through Manage My Bookings.

3. Change Your Air Canada Flight

For eligible bookings made directly with Air Canada, you can select the Change Booking option. You may be able to change:

• Travel date
• Flight
• Route
• Other eligible itinerary details

Air Canada states that bookings made on aircanada.com can generally be changed online up to 2 hours before departure, provided the booking is eligible for online changes. Any applicable fare difference or change fee is displayed before you confirm the change. If the new flight costs more, you may have to pay the fare difference. If a refund is due, Air Canada says it is returned to the original form of payment.

4. Cancel Your Air Canada Booking

Eligible reservations can also be cancelled through Manage My Bookings. Before confirming cancellation, review:

• Whether your fare is refundable
• Applicable cancellation fees
• The amount of any refund
• Original form of payment
• Any applicable ticket restrictions

Cancellation and refund conditions depend on the ticket/fare and how the reservation was purchased.

5. Select or Change Your Seat

You can normally select a seat after booking by opening My Bookings and looking for the Change Seats option. Seat availability and any applicable charges depend on the flight and fare.

6. Add Passport or Passenger Information

Manage My Bookings can also be used to add required Advance Passenger Information, including passport information where applicable. However, Air Canada says passenger information itself cannot generally be changed online. For issues such as an incorrect passenger name or other booking errors, you may need to contact Air Canada Reservations.

7. Check In Online

You can retrieve your reservation through Manage My Bookings and proceed with online check-in when it becomes available for your flight. Air Canada lists check-in among the functions available through its booking-management system.

8. Add Travel Options

Depending on your reservation, you may also be able to purchase or select additional travel options, such as seats and other eligible services, through the booking-management system.

What Cannot Usually Be Changed Online?

Some situations require assistance from Air Canada or the original booking provider. Examples include:

• Adding, removing or replacing passengers
• Certain passenger-name corrections
• Special assistance requests
• Special meals
• Bookings where part of the itinerary has already been flown
• Certain Air Canada Vacations bookings
• Some reservations made through third parties
